PRODUCT CARE

Our pieces are handcrafted in small batches using materials such as freshwater pearls, gold-filled, sterling silver, gold vermeil, and crystal beads. Small variations are part of what makes your piece uniquely yours.

.925 STERLING SILVER

Sterling silver naturally tarnishes when exposed to air, salt, or sulphur. This tarnishing can be gently removed using your polishing cloth. 

Sterling Silver should always be kept dry. Avoid exposure to chlorine, soap, sanitisers, perfume, and other chemicals. Remove your jewellery before showering, swimming, exercising, or sleeping. Store your pieces in a soft fabric pouch or a lined jewellery box to minimise exposure to air and prevent scratches. 

GOLD FILLED JEWELLERY

Gold-filled jewellery is made by mechanically bonding a thick layer of gold to a base metal. The outer gold layer must be at least 1/20 of the overall metal content by weight.

It is durable and long-lasting, but should be treated with care. Avoid water, chemicals, and perfumes, and store pieces separately to prevent scratches.

GOLD VERMEIL

Gold vermeil achieves the look of 18-karat gold without the high cost. It is made with 18k solid gold (of at least 2.5 microns), carefully layered on top of 925 sterling silver. The finish is five times thicker than average gold plating, and far more durable.

Always remove your gold vermeil jewellery when bathing, applying lotions, or putting on perfume. Your pieces should be the last thing you wear when dressing and be stored safely in the TAIANE pouch to maintain their finish.

PEARLS & GEMSTONES

Pearls and natural gemstones are delicate; wipe with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth after wearing. Avoid hot water, harsh chemicals, and abrasive cleaners

CRYSTAL BEAD JEWELLERY 

Crystal bead jewellery should not come into contact with harsh chemicals or hot water. Gently wipe with a clean, soft cloth after wearing to preserve their sparkle.

JEWELLERY WARRANTY

All jewellery purchased from TAIANE is covered against manufacturer's defects in material or workmanship for 3 months after purchase. This does not cover neglect, abuse, natural wear, or stone loss.
